When the Lord Grants Your Desires, How to Recognize His Gifts

Today’s word is short and sweet, from Matthew 7:9–11:“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”
God is a good God and a good Father who delights in giving His children good gifts. Even when it feels like life is full of hard lessons and waiting seasons, don’t lose sight of this truth: God cares for you deeply—in both the big things and the small ones.
Think about the parables where Jesus tells us not to worry. If the birds are fed and the flowers are clothed in splendor, how much more will God care for you? You are His child, and He’s not handing out stones when you ask for bread.
Yes, the process can be hard. Growth is stretching. But keep trusting God. Fight the thoughts that try to steal your peace, but also rest in the truth that you are held by a loving Father.
If you belong to Him, you’ve been given access to His promises—peace, provision, and purpose. So today, claim what's yours. Even when the world frustrates you (and believe me, I'm preaching to myself too), don't forget who your Father is.
Have a good week. You’re covered. You’re loved. You’re not alone.
