The Importance of Letting Your Light So Shine for Jesus Christ

Hi reader, have you ever wondered why it's important to focus on letting our light shine brightly for God?
Well, Jesus reminds us in Matthew 5:
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
This teaching, part of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, calls us to live boldly for Him. We are to be salt, preserving and enhancing the world around us with His truth, and light, illuminating the darkness with His love. Our actions should reflect His goodness, inspiring others to glorify our Father in heaven.
As we end the year, let’s fully submit to God, worship Him through our daily lives, and commit to being living sacrifices (Romans 12:1). Whether through acts of kindness, sharing the Gospel, or simply living out our faith authentically, we are called to be disciples who shine brightly in a dark world.
Take time this month to think about practical ways to let your light shine—through your words, deeds, and the love you show to others.
