God's Free Plan for Salvation Explained: What Does Jesus Actually Mean for Us?

Sometimes it’s hard to wrap our minds around God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is a Spirit, infinite and above us, while we are finite beings who often struggle to grasp the divine. But in His love, God gave us a promise through Jesus, making Himself known in a way we could understand.

This promise was first spoken in Genesis 3 after the fall of humanity. Throughout the Bible, God’s plan for salvation unfolds- Jesus:

• 1 Peter 1:20 reminds us that Christ was chosen before the creation of the world.

• Isaiah 7:14 prophesied the miraculous birth of Jesus, saying, "The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel."

• Micah 5:2 foretold His birthplace, declaring that from Bethlehem would come a ruler over Israel, one whose origins are from old, from ancient times.

Through Jesus and the Word of God, we find truth, freedom, and assurance. God is real. Jesus is real. And today, we celebrate His birth!

At just the right moment, as Galatians 4:4-5 tells us, God sent His Son, born of a woman, to redeem us so we could become His children. Jesus’ birth fulfilled God’s promise—a miracle that brought light into a dark world.

He came to love, heal, and save, leaving an eternal impact that continues to transform lives. That is the truth.

As today is Christmas, take time to reflect on the miracle of Jesus’ birth and the incredible gift of His presence. My pastor spoke about this on Sunday and it reaffirmed my faith yet again: Jesus is the Son of God.

May it remain in our hearts forever.
