I remember talking to my therapist, and expressing my disappointment with my relationships. I wanted deeper connections, more fulfillment, and a greater sense of reciprocity.
My therapist listened and then asked a simple but profound question: "What are you putting into them?"
I realized you can't expect an abundant harvest when you've sown little to no seed.
This principle of "input equals output" applies to our relationship with God, too.
We often want God’s blessings, guidance, and presence, but how much are we investing in our connection with Him? How much time are we spending in His Word, in prayer, or in worship?
John 3:16 reminds us of the ultimate input from God — the sacrifice of His Son for our eternal life. God has already given so much. He is omnipresent and is always willing to connect. Our response should be to invest in our relationship with Him, making Him not just a part of our lives but the very center of it.
Romans 12:1-2 calls us to present our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God. It’s an invitation to subtract our own desires, add God’s will, and witness the multiplication of His love in our lives.
When we renew our minds daily, offering our whole selves to Him, we invite His transformative power into every part of our lives. When we talk about the Holy Spirit, we must come to an understanding that He is NOT DEAD. His Spirit is Living and we have access.
